Day 53

The Produce of Our Hearts

Hebrews 13:15

15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

A fruit’s quality depends on the plant or tree it originates from. A dried-out strawberry plant can’t produce sweet and juicy berries, and a diseased apple tree won’t bear flavorful apples. In Luke Jesus says, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good;” (6:45a). What fruit does your heart bear? Are you quick to be grateful, encouraging, and content, or are your words scarred with complaints and bruised with discontentment? Examine the produce of your heart today, and cultivate it to bear good fruit.

What fruit have you been bearing lately?
